Mrs Kanayo, the Executive Vice President of the Intra-African Trade Initiative at African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) holds a Master of Public Administration Degree with a specialization in International Trade and Finance, which she obtained from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States.
Additionally, Mrs. Awani holds the Edward S. Mason Fellowship in Public Policy and Management from the same prestigious university. With a vast background in banking, she accumulated extensive experience during her 17-year tenure at Citigroup in Nigeria, where she held various positions, culminating in her role as Vice President and Head of Industrial and Commercial Corporates.

Mrs. Kanayo Awani Awani has been elected to the Executive Committee (EXCOM) of FCI the global representative association of factoring. Mrs. Awani was unanimously elected during the 55th annual meeting of FCI in Marrakech, Morocco, on November 2, 2023, to represent the affiliated members of FCI.
