Yasemin Bedir has officially assumed her role as President of Mastercard\u2019s Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) region, placing a woman executive at the helm of one of the global payments company\u2019s largest and most strategically significant international businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Effective September 1, Bedir now leads Mastercard\u2019s<\/strong>operations across an 81-country region spanning Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Based in the UAE, she will oversee the company\u2019s regional strategy and work closely with financial institutions, governments, fintech companies, retailers and businesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Major Role in a Transforming Financial Region<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appointment comes at a significant time for the Middle East and wider EEMEA financial ecosystem. Digital payments, fintech innovation, financial inclusion and new forms of commerce are rapidly reshaping how consumers and businesses access and move money across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yasemin <\/strong>Bedir<\/strong> brings nearly two decades of experience at Mastercard to the role. Before taking charge of the EEMEA region, she served as Division President for Eastern Europe and previously held leadership positions across Turkey, Azerbaijan and North America. Her appointment also places her on Mastercard\u2019s Management Committee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
