
Sarah Al-Suhaimi is the first female CEO of The Saudi Investment Bank and the first woman to head the Saudi Stock Exchange.
Her father, Jammaz Al-Souhaimi, served as the Chairman of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) in Saudi Arabia from 2004 to 2006 and later as the Chairman of the Gulf International Bank in Bahrain.
Despite her early interest in literature, Sarah pursued administrative sciences with a specialization in accounting at King Saud University, followed by general management studies at Harvard University in the United States.
Sarah began her professional career alongside completing her studies. In 2007, she worked as a senior portfolio manager at Samba Financial Group, later becoming the Director of Investments at Jadwa Investment. In September 2013, she joined the advisory committee of the Capital Market Authority, serving for two years.
In 2014, she was appointed CEO of NCB Capital, the investment banking arm of The National Commercial Bank (AlahliNCB), which is the first Saudi bank, the largest bank in the Arab world in terms of assets, and a global pioneer in Islamic finance. This appointment made her the first woman to head a Saudi investment bank, cementing her as a leader in the financial sector.
In 2017, Sarah was elected Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Tadawul, the largest stock market in the Middle East, becoming the first woman to lead a government financial institution in Saudi Arabia, all while maintaining her role at NCB Capital.
