Sarah Al Suhaimi, first female CEO of The Saudi Investment Bank and first woman to lead the Saudi Stock Exchange.



Her father, Jammaz Al-Souhaimi, who served as the Chairman of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) in Saudi Arabia from 2004 to 2006, and later as the Chairman of the Gulf International Bank in Bahrain.

Despite her interest in literature, she studied administrative sciences with a specialization in accounting at King Saud University and then pursued general management at Harvard University in the United States.

Alongside the completion of her studies, she began her professional career. In 2007, she started as a senior portfolio manager at Samba Financial Group , and later became the Director of Investments at Jadwa Investment . In September 2013, she was selected to serve on the advisory committee of the Capital Market Authority, where she remained for two years. In 2014, she was appointed as the hashtag#CEO of hashtag#NCB Capital, the investment banking arm of The National Commercial Bank – AlahliNCB , which is the first Saudi bank, the largest bank in the Arab world in terms of assets, and one of the pioneers in Islamic finance globally. Consequently, in 2014, she became the first woman to be appointed as the head of a Saudi investment bank, and one of the most prestigious ones.

In 2017, she was elected Chairperson of the board of Directors of Tadawul, the largest stock Market in the Middle East and become the first woman to lead a government financial institution in Saudi Arabia. However, she continued to hold her position at NCB Capital.
Ms. Al Suhaimi was named one of the most powerful businesswomen by Forbes Middle East.
