Kuwait’s financial sector plays an important role in advancing women’s economic participation and creating opportunities for professional growth and leadership.

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) was among the sponsors of the inaugural Women & the Economy Conference, held in Kuwait on 17 October 2026, followed by a high-level roundtable on 18 October.

The conference highlighted the importance of strengthening women’s economic participation, expanding leadership opportunities, and encouraging greater representation in decision-making roles across various sectors.

Financial institutions have an important role to play in supporting women’s professional development by fostering inclusive working environments, providing access to training and development opportunities, and enabling talented women to take on greater responsibilities.

Beyond professional development, supporting women’s economic empowerment requires practical initiatives that strengthen financial awareness, encourage financial independence, and create opportunities for women to contribute more actively to the economy.

An important priority for organizations is developing future female leaders through structured career development, mentorship, sponsorship, and succession planning. Providing women with opportunities to lead projects, participate in strategic decisions, and gain practical leadership experience can help build a stronger pipeline of qualified female executives.

Creating supportive workplace environments is equally important, enabling women to balance professional and family responsibilities while ensuring that career progression is based on performance, capability, and contribution.

Shaikha Almogahwi of KFH said: “I am proud to work for an organization that truly supports women’s growth and leadership. At KFH, women are empowered to develop their skills, take on greater responsibilities, and advance their careers.”

This commitment reflects the Bank’s belief that empowering women contributes to strengthening the future of banking and finance by fostering diverse perspectives, driving innovation, and supporting sustainable growth. It also reflects KFH’s sustainability vision, which recognizes that empowering women and creating equal opportunities for career advancement are essential to creating long-term social and economic value.
